Pouilly-Fumé Blanc
"Les Chante-Alouettes"

The vineyards of Pouilly-Fumé are located on the right bank of the Loire River opposite those of Sancerre. Here too, Sauvignon Blanc is the varietal of choice.
The estate does not own any vines within this appellation. We buy must or wine from local producers with whom we have worked for over 20 years. This Pouilly-Fumé is a Sauvignon Blanc made from grapes grown in siliceous clay and clay-limestone soils.
It is the blending of these wines made from grapes grown in two different types of soil that gives this Pouilly-Fumé “Les Chante-Alouettes” its intensity and aromatic richness. Flinty soil adds a smoky touch of gunflint while clay lends floral notes and brings out the wine’s richness on the palate.
